P5 & P6 visit the Titanic Centre, Belfast

P5 and P6 had a great day at the Titanic Centre, Belfast. The children helped in creating Northern Ireland’s first piece of Leatherback Turtle ‘crowd art’ formation! Between 100 – 150 children formed the shape of a giant turtle on Titanic Belfast’s historic slipways, with each child holding up a length of fabric to create the detail in the image. The photograph will be placed on the Titanic website.

During their visit, the children participated in an Exploring the Depths Workshop.  The children learned about the depths different sea creatures live best and they were able to see the underwater robot that located the Titanic. The children visited the galleries and viewed the bedrooms used by the 1st, 2nd and 3rd class passengers.
