IWALK Day

Well done to everyone who participated in IWALK Day on Wednesday 7 October.  Approximately 60% of our children walked to school, or part of the way to school.  It is great to see so many of our children making use of the hi-vis vests supplied by Sustrans.  These will help to keep the children safe as they make their way to and from school in the winter months.

Walkathon at Doagh PS!

We had a very successful Walkathon to help raise funds for our PTA.  Mrs Hill organised an obstacle course around the school grounds, including the school field, just to make things that little bit more trickly for our children!  Everyone thoroughly enjoyed the challenges, including the staff!  The total number of laps completed by the whole school was 19, so very well done boys and girls.  We would be grateful if sponsor money could be returned to your child's class teacher by Friday 16 October.  Thank you very much for your support.

Every child received a hi-vis vest for participating and we would encourage these to be worn when the children are walking to or from school.  This will help to keep them safe as they will be easy to see, especially as we are now coming into the darker mornings and evenings.

Doagh PS is participating in International Walk to School Month.  Monday 5 - Friday 9 October is designated as IWALK Week and Wednesday 7 October as IWALK Day.  An information letter has been sent home regarding this.  Please remember to send in your child's pledge on Wednesday 7 October if he/she has walked, even part of the way, to school.

School Walkathon

On Friday 2 October we are having our annual sponsored walk to help raise money for PTA funds. This year our sponsored walk has a bit of a twist to it, in that the children will be completing some obstacles along the way!  All children should wear their tracksuits and trainers for this event.  Please note that football tops are not permitted at such events.  We would be grateful if sponsor money could be sent into school before Friday 16 October 2015.  Many thanks for your support in helping us raise money for Doagh PS.

European Day of Languages

On Friday 25 September we are celebrating European Day of Languages.  Come along to school dressed in the traditional costume or the colours of a European country.  As this is a non-uniform day we kindly ask for a £1.00 contribution to our school funds.  Thank you!

We are having a 'BIG BUN' sale at breaktime with lots of yummy buns and cakes!  The money raised from the bun sale will go towards Macmillan Cancer, a very worthy charity.  Thank you to Mrs McIlroy for organising this event.
